Taming Hurricane Irma

Imagery is a form of non-verbal prayer.

There is a large body of research showing the efficacy of communal prayer in creating physiological change in individuals suffering with life threatening illnesses – even when they did not know they were being prayed for. Likewise, imagery can be used to help shift global events as well. Many participate in these prayer groups.

Post-Vacation Blues

Almost everyone experiences some degree of difficulty making the transition from vacation back to regular everyday life.  It seems the longer the vacation, the harder the transition becomes. And with it comes a pull against getting back to “the grind” -- and the feeling I term “vacation blues.”

Lent: Practicing the Art of Sacrifice

Ash Wednesday begins today marking the start of Lent for 2017. For Christians, it is a time to give up something of value for something of greater value. Most often, we do the reverse and give up something of value for something of lesser value, such as addictive behaviors to food, drugs and alcohol as well as in relationships where we inappropriately sacrifice ourselves on the altar of another’s dysfunctional needs.  Read more »

 A 7-Day Exercise for Valentine’s Day - Starting  now!

Starting today, and each day thereafter including Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, write a love letter or love note to a loved one. 

On Feb. 14 insert these writings into a Valentine’s card and or a box of Valentine’s candy to give your loved one (size of box doesn’t matter).
