Against Fear

"Even when I sit in darkness, God is my light" (Micah 7:8)

Jerry taught that faith was the antidote for fear. Be it fear of the dark, fear of the Omicron variant, or fear of death. We are not all born with faith, but rather we each can build faith through practice. Mental imagery builds faith in ourselves and in invisible reality.

One tip about fear or any other distressing feeling, the general feeling is to fight it. Instead, give credence to whatever it is that is disturbing you, accept it, then something meaningful can be done.

The spiritual point here is the acceptance of everything as legitimate and genuine. When we let go of prejudice and bias, everything is then possible. Here's a simple potent imagery exercise against fear:

  • Close you eyes & breathe out slowly three times
  • See, sense, and feel God guarding you as “the protective shade at your right hand.” (Psalm 121:5)
  • Breathe out once and open your eyes.
