Healing Stress & Trauma through Mental Imagery— Starts Feb 26, 2023 (Fall Course Extended)

Covid has left many of us feeling burnt out, anxious about the future, isolated, and filled with grief and sadness. Mental Imagery, or visualization, is a powerful method that can help us regain our inner strength, joy, and faith in life itself.

Practicing imagery regularly helps us to regain balance by coming back into the present moment, instead of dwelling in past memories or future fears. With imagery, we can seed new possibilities for ourselves and weed out experiences and memories that are no longer serving us.

In this three week  "extension" class we will address common themes of stress and trauma: anxiety, depression, guilt, hypervigilance, insomnia, and reversing of painful memories. You will come away with specific imagery as well as the ability to make up your own imagery.

This class is co-taught by Phyllis Kahaney and Rachel Epstein, co-authors of Reversing The Trauma of War: PTSD Help for Veterans, Active Duty Personnel and Their Families.  

Phyllis Kahaney, MSW, PhD, Left a long career as an academic  and obtained an MSW. She studied with Dr. Gerald Epstein and Mme. Colette Aboulker-Muscat. She worked extensively with veterans at the Vet Center in San Diego helping them to overcome PTSD. She now works as a hospice social worker and as a wholistic health coach in private practice. She is a graduate of the American Institute for Mental Imagery.

Rachel Epstein, LAc, JD, is the Director of AIMI and has a private imagery coaching practice.
