Passover: Searching for Chametz*

Intention:
To cleanse ourselves spiritually

Close your eyes and breathe out three times slowly.

On your next long out breath, imagine you enter a darkened room with a candle in your hand. With the light of the candle search for what is hidden and waiting for you in the four corners of the room.

1) Go to the first corner in front of you. What is there?

2) Walking to the right, bring your light to the next corner. What do you discover?

3) Walk again to the right, to the third corner. What do you discover?

4) Go to the fourth corner and look at it clearly to find what is there for you.

Know that you must sacrifice everything for the truth that you are discovering.

Know that Passover is the leap over the abyss.

See and know that the Promised Land now lies ahead of you – never behind you!

See and know that behind you is the burnt Golden Calf of the dead past.

Breathe out and open your eyes.

* Leavened Products. Traditionally on the night before Passover, Jews ritually search the entire house with a candle, feather, and wooden spoon to remove any remaining chametz.
